The Czech Republic and Tomas Satoransky will wait until the last second, hoping that the leader of the Czech national team will be able to play in Eurobasket 2022 in front of his home crowd.
As Michal Sob, the national team manager said to the local press: “It’s a matter still in question. However, rehabilitation is going in the right direction”.
As Sob said, Navin Hettiarachchi, the Director of Health, Wellness, and Performance for the Washington Wizards arrived in Prague to work with Satoransky, who signed with Barcelona, but has been a member of Washington: ” Tomas has been in daily contact with him since his arrival when the doctor practically moved to his home. In addition, Tomas visits all available rehabilitation centers. We are trying to do everything for Tomas’ return to court. We have used all possible contacts to get the best care from the best doctors”.
The final decision will be made on Wednesday evening and will be announced on Thursday afternoon when the Czech national team has to present its official roster to FIBA.
There’s also the scenario that Satoransky will be part of the roster, even if he misses the start of the tournament. As Sob admitted: “We made his house like the Chicago Hope hospital. He has been in a positive mood and he believes that he will be able to return”.
