With both teams already qualified for the Round of 16, the game between Serbia and Poland ended up being a trivial affair. Still, Serbia once more proved that they were above the rest of the competition in Group D, getting an easy 96-69 win.

Nikola Jokic with 19 points and five rebounds did his job, but it was the other center of the team who stole the show. In his first game in the tournament Nikola Milutinov had 16 points and 3 rebounds, proving that he is ready to go.

“We played really good for 40 minutes, why didn’t have ups and downs and that’s why we got such an easy win”, said Militunov.

And once more, Vasilje Micic was conducting an amazing orchestra at the point guard position, finishing the game with 12 points and nine assists.

“Two important things, energy, and excellent attitude”, said coach Svetislav Pesic about the game.

It’s a big boost for Serbia which didn’t have Nemanja Nedovic active. As it was reported the Serb guard is expected to miss the rest of the tournament, but per coach Pesic, there might be hope for him to come back to action in the next few days.

The game started with the Serbs having a 28-14 first quarter and they never looked back. They even led by 31 (86-55). Michal Michalak with 17 points was the top scorer of Poland which will face Ukraine in the Round of 16, while Serbia will play against Italy.

“We got two wins here, we qualified for the next phase and right now our minds are already in the game in Berlin”, admitted Michalak.
