Just hours after the joy of making it to the Eurobasket quarterfinals by beating Montenegro, the German national team doesn’t know if Franz Wagner will be able to compete in the quarterfinals.
Wagner had twisted his ankle in the third quarter, he then left the floor and never returned to the game. As it was announced today, there’s no official word about his exact condition, or if he will be able to play in the next game.
As the German federation (DBB) announced: “Following detailed imaging diagnostics at the Berlin Accident Hospital late yesterday evening, Franz Wagner is still being treated by the DBB’s medical staff. The further course remains to be seen”.
Meanwhile, the team canceled Sunday’s practice and will return to the court on Monday, having to play for the quarterfinals on Tuesday against the winner of the Greece vs Czech Republic Round of 16 game.
