BERLIN, Germany –  The Spanish National Team will play in a Eurobasket semifinal for the 11th straight tournament, and at this point that will not be enough.

As Dario Brizuela said after the quarterfinal win over Finland: “Yes, we are in the semifinals, yes. But it is not enough for us and we want more. Since we are here, we have to fight”.

After losing in the first half 43-52, Spain turned the thing upside down, in large part thanks to Rudy Fernández ‘s reaction in the locker room: “He gave us a well-deserved scolding. He is our leader and he has roused us. Nobody was happy with how we were playing .”

On a personal level, Brizuela who comes from the bench and averages so far nine points per game is satisfied with his role and the performance against Finland: “I’m happy, not for leading with the second unit, but for being in this team, which is a real unit. We have all worked very well. The starters have started the second half with a lot of strength and it has given us life .”

Spain will now face Germany on Friday (16/9) at 20:30 CET for a spot in the big final.
