Controlling in the first quarter and escaping late in the game, Serbia did a quick job of the Georgian national team, now coached by Aleksandar Dzikic, winning 76-63 in Tbilisi.

There were a lot of standout players in the win by Serbian over Georgia, led by Marko Guduric, who was his team’s highest scorer with 16 points. Filip Petrusev went close to a double-double with 11 points and 8 rebounds.

Aleksa Avramovic had another great performance with 12 points and 7 rebounds, while Vanja Marinkovic provided 15 points in the victory.

As expected, Tornike Shengelia was the best on his team’s side with 17 points and 7 rebounds, but still couldn’t contribute to the red-and-white side taking the victory at home.

Joe Thomasson, newly naturalized and recently acquired by Maccabi Tel Aviv, scored 15 points in the defeat.

With Finland bouncing back after the loss in the first game to the Serbian national team and Denmark losing after starting these qualifiers on a winning end, Georgia is at the top with a winless 0-2 record, while the 2023 FIBA World Cup silver medalists are now leading Group G at 2-0.
