In an interview with Le Progrès, the new president of the French Basketball Federation (FFBB), Jean-Pierre Hunckler, spoke about Victor Wembanyama.
The French star was home over the last week, donning the San Antonio Spurs jersey for the 2025 NBA Paris Games, and had a chance to speak with Hunckler, giving a strong assurance to play at EuroBasket 2025.
“The good fortune we have is that he’s a young man with a great mindset who cares about French basketball and its development. Every time Boris Diaw is with him, they talk about one thing only — the French national team. I had a five-minute conversation with Victor this week because he was very busy, and he assured me that barring any physical setback, he will be there for Euro 2025,” Jean-Pierre Hunckler.
Victor Wembanyama withdrew from the 2023 World Cup but is set to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games, aiming for a medal in Paris.
