Goran Dragic’s career has been full of great moments. The former Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns player, among others, was key to Slovenia’s gold medal at EuroBasket 2017.

In the A Cresta Alta podcast, Dragic spoke about what that medal means to him, the pride of playing for his country, and how he convinced Anthony Randolph.

He highlighted the most important moment of his career without hesitating for a single minute. “I mean, definitely winning a gold medal with the national team”, Dragic said.

“That was the highlight of my career, even if I had won a championship ring in the NBA, probably that still would not top it because when you represent your people, your country, it means everything to me, and that year everything came together”, the former NBA player added.

With Doncic just beginning to take his first steps as a star, Igor Kokoskov on the bench and Anthony Randolph as a key factor, Slovenia became champions of Eurobasket 2017.

“A young Luka’s first year playing together, Igor Kokoskov, the coach who I worked with before in Phoenix for three to four years, and then we went to Madrid to convince Anthony Randolph…”, he said.
