The 30-year-old power forward entered the FIBA window following a historic 2025–26 season with Olympiacos, where he captured his second EuroLeague Most Valuable Player award and celebrated his first continental championship. His experience, which includes a 42-game stint with the Sacramento Kings during the 2023-24 NBA season, proved crucial in this EuroBasket 2029 Pre-Qualifiers matchup.
Bulgaria’s decisive win reshaped the Group B standings, leaving them tied with Norway at seven points each through a 3-1 record, while Armenia remains winless at the bottom.
Meanwhile, North Macedonia asserted absolute dominance in Group A by maintaining a perfect 6-0 record. Group C saw Slovakia emulate that perfect run by capturing eight points from four consecutive wins.

As a result of these battles, the group winners advanced to the next round, accompanied by Norway, who qualified as the best second-placed team. While these four countries celebrate progression, the remaining participants face divergent paths. National squads eliminated from the first round of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers will now transfer into this second round of the pre-qualification stage. Also, the national teams knocked out during these opening phases will receive a final opportunity to reach the Qualifiers by competing in a third pre-qualifying round later.
