Thanks to a Halperin’s three pointer Israel got the 74-60 lead few minutes before the end and despite Datome leading a 10-0 run, the “Azzuri” didn’t manage to make the total comeback and lost 74-78.
Greece won the game over Great Britain 95-62 in a preparation match at Crete. It was the first time this summer Bourousis and Spanoulis played -they had injuries. Kaimakoglou also got back in the game -after he broke his nose at Strasburg.
Croatia beat Latvia 81-66, with the Latvians having 9/30 FTs! Jasmin Repesa’s players were better during most of the game. Zoric and Simon didn’t play (they will play at Istanbul next week), but Saric came back after 10 days (he has lost 5 preparation games).
Slovenia won the game over Russia (84-80) with Bostjan Nachbar scoring 18 points and Jaka Blazic adding 14. For Russian team, Alexey Shved had 19 points and Sergey Monya followed him with 17 points. Also, Poland was much better than Belgium in Antwerp and the hosts were defeated 66-52.
