Vasilis Spanoulis sprained his right ankle and nobody knows yet if he will play in the game against Turkey. Greek basketball federation announced that he will miss Friday’s practices and his condition will be reevaluated on Saturday, however the Greek team is preparing itself for the possibility of not using him against Turkey in order to protect him.

On the contrary Eurobasket already finished for Alex Tyus and Gjorgi Cekovski. The Israeli forward who was battling a groin injury before the tournament will not remain with the team, which has so far two defeats in two games. The same applies to FYROM’s Cekovski who suffered a muscle tear in the right leg during the game against Lithuania.

UPDATE: As coach Trinkieri said during his press conference Spanoulis will be protected and he is not expected to be used during the game against Turkey.
