The Greek national team is currently the only EuroBasket squad without a head coach.

When Kostas Missas was asked about the whole matter and the scenarios that include him at the helm, he said that, “I think that the whole scenario will gain substance and meaning quite soon. There will be announcements tomorrow or the day after.”

Missas has been the coach of the Greek U20 and Women’s national team. In 2009 he led the Greek U20 squad to the European Championship title.

“The Greek national team has a different approach for us that have already been there. We’ll have some developments really soon,” he added.

Regarding the Antetokounbros Event, he mentioned that, “This is arguably a compelling sight. People love and are thirsty for basketball. Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo deliver us an event where you can enjoy basketball. This shows the dynamics behind the sport. I have to confess that what is taking place here gives you strength and shows how much the Greek people love basketball. It’s important to pass that logic to kids. Basketball is a game and is based on having fun.”
