Lithuania struggled against the tough-to-crack Poland but managed to win in the end.

It wasn’t a game that will be remembered for the quality of basketball played, but definitely 40 minutes from which coaches Dainius Adomaitis (Lithuania) and Mike Taylor (Poland) can draw some valuable early conclusions ahead of the EuroBasket.

That’s the purpose of these prep games after all. Not to present a spectacle. Even if the fans gathered in Klaipeda perhaps desired something more than the close 59 – 58 victory of their beloved Lithuanian national team over the Polish squad.

They at least saw Jonas Valanciunas notch a double-double (14 points, 13 rebounds in less than 27 minutes) from the third period of the match and Arturas Guidaitis (11 points) looking ready to make his EuroBasket debut.

From Poland, Damian Kulig scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds while Mateusz Ponitka had 12 points.
