Israel won the “Kondrashin and Belov” Cup after defeating Russia in the “friendly” tournament’s Final.

Shawn Dawson dropped 18 points and grabbed six rebounds, Lior Eliyahu scored 10 as Israel defeated Russia 79 – 71 in the final of “Kondrashin and Belov” tournament.

Israel completes the “friendly” matches in St. Petersburg with a 2/2 since it also beat Finland on Saturday (5/8). It remains perfect in the preparation period ahead of the EuroBasket having also won vs Romania (twice).

This result marks Russia’s first loss since Sergey Bazarevich took over as new head coach. Alexey Shved was the top scorer for the game’s hosts with 20 points. He also dished six assists while Nikita Kurbanov added 10 points.
