In a very peculiar game in London which was overshadowed by the news of Giannis Antetokounmpo missing the Eurobasket, Greece beat Great Britain 88-84.

It was a close game with Nikos Pappas emerging as the scoring leader of the team with 22 points. Greece was also missing Giannis Bourousis, Giorgos Printezis and Ioannis Papapetrou who stayed in Athens due to a stomach virus.

The hosts led by two points at halftime (46-44) and tried the best, however at the closing second Giorgos Papagiannis and Pappas made four out of four free throws and iced the game. Papagiannis scored in total 11 points, Kostas Sloukas added 11 while Nick Calathes had 9 points and 7 assists.

Dan Clark had his best prep game for Great Britain with 23 points and 11 rebounds and Gabe Olesani added 20 points.

Still, Greece suffered today a major blow for the upcoming Eurobasket as Giannis Antetokounmpo will not be able to play.
