With Tornike Shengelia posting another double/double thanks to 21 points and 14 rebounds and Duda Sanadze scoring the game-winner from downtown, Georgia beat Serbia 68 – 66 in the teams’ second match for the “Akropolis International Tournament”.

This is the second win of the Gerogian squad in the tournament since they also downed hosts Greece last night (23/8).

Serbia held the lead for the majority of the second half but lost its focus down the stretch particularly after Boban Marjanovic (once again the top performer of his team with 19 points and eight rebounds) was fouled out late in the fourth.

Following Sanadze’s go-ahead 3-pointer, Bogdan Bogdanovic (15 points) won a foul and dropped 1/2. Georgia turned the ball over after a bad pass and while Sasa Djordjevic’s found a solid look to the basket with Vladimir Lucic from beyond the arc, the shot went out.
