Marcin Gortat is retired and Maciej Lampe is out but Poland’s frontline still looks fearsome thanks to a dominant Przemysław Karnowski that made short work of the Hungarian defenses.

Przemysław Karnowski posted a double-double of 21 points (9/13) and 13 rebounds as Poland downed an unmanned Hungarian national team 73 – 63 in its last prep game before the EuroBasket.

Hungary was more than competitive in the first half (33-33), despite playing without major stars Adam Hanga, David Vojvoda and naturalized guard DeAndre Kane, but couldn’t keep up with the Polish players after the break.

Csaba Ferencz had 16 points and Akos Keller scored 15 and grabbed 7 rebounds for the losing squad that was outscored 26 – 11 in the third period by its opponents who remained in control.

Apart from Karnowski, Adam Waczynski dropped 13 points and Damian Kulig 9 for Poland.
