Challenging first win for Israel over a tough Germany on Sunday.

Israel made an amazing comeback and beat Germany 82-80, grabbing its first win in the tournament!

The star: Richard Howell led his team with 23 points and 9 rebounds, while he also handed 3 assists.

Turning point: After a balanced first half (43-43), Germany got a 15-5 advantage early in the third quarter, paced by Johannes Voigtmann. Fleming’s squad led by 69-56 after 30 minutes, yet Israel fought back in the middle of the final period, reducing the deficit to 4 points and eventually got a one-point advantage (77-78). Mekel sealed the win with 1/2 free throws in the final seconds.

Key players: Omri Casspi reached a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners, Guy Pnini scored 15 points, while Gal Mekel had 12. Despite Dennis Schroder’s 20-point performance, the German squad ceased to seal the game in its favour.
