Latvia got the 97-92 win with much more ease than the final score implies, as the losing side only managed the cut the deficit in the final minutes. Latvia is now at 2-1 while Great Britain falls to 0-2.

The star: Kristaps Porzingis was absolutely unstoppable. He finished the game with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. Davis Bertans was on fire, breaking the Latvian record for 3 pointers made with 7. He had 22 points going 7-for-8 from downtown. Janis Strelnieks also had a nice all around game with 13 points and 9 assists, just missing a double-double.

Too late: Great Britain managed to keep the game within range in the 1st Q (25-20) and finished the half trailing by 10. Latvia was on fire from downtown and stretched the lead in the 3rd quarter totaling 34 points. Great Britain put up a fight in the 4th, trimming a 29-point deficit to 6 with 33 seconds left, but it was a little too late.

Gabriel Olaseni had 23 points and 10 boards on 10-0f-11 shooting for the losing side.

Latvia’s big man Martins Meiers was not in the arena due to illness.
