After the game, Doncic spoke to the Greek national television, admitting that getting to the semifinal feels amazing: “It’s a dream for me. I was almost in tears after the game. It’s a historic win for our national team. I am proud to be here, I am proud to be Slovenian and play in this Eurobasket”.

Doncic, who  spoke for the first time about the possibility of being the No.1 pick of the 2018 NBA draft right before the game, had only good things to say about Kristaps Porzingis and his game: “Yes, we wanted to attack him because he scored – how many? – 34 points? He is an amazing player and a good person. And I hope I can be like him. He is an amazing player. Maybe the best player in the world”.

Doncic also compared one of his amazing shots made in the game to those of his teammate in Real Madrid, Sergio Llull: “I was lucky but I also had confidence that it will go in. And also I learned this from Sergio, he always makes these kinds of shots”.

Last but not least, he spoke about the upcoming match up with Spain and winning a medal: “It’s going to be a great game against Spain, we need to play perfectly to beat them, but we are ready. We are confident. And we will show our character. I hope this is our time for a medal, in the last Eurobasket of Goran Dragic”.
