The clash between Darussafaka and Virtus Bologna will be rescheduled as the Italian team isn’t allowed to enter Turkish territory

EuroLeague Basketball decided to suspend the clash of Darussafaka Tekfen and Segafredo Virtus Bologna in 7DAYS EuroCup.

The decision has been made due to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs restricting access to the country for any individual that spent time in Italy during the previous two weeks.

Euroleague is in the process of evaluating alternative arenas in other countries as well as alternative dates to reschedule the game.

Gianni Petrucci, the president of the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP), stated earlier that Virtus Bologna informed him that EuroLeague didn’t have any intention of rescheduling the game and would have counted it as a loss for the Italian team had they not showed up.

However, as it turned out, that wasn’t the case.
