Unicaja Malaga has decided to implement salaries reduction to the first team only amid the suspension of all sports activities due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Spanish club announced. The pay cut will affect only the players of the senior squad and head coach Luis Casimiro.

The Malaga board of directors agreed to start a negotiation process with the players and coach Casimiro regarding the pay decrease. The amount of the salary cuts will depend on whether the suspended Spanish ACB League will resume or end up being canceled. The championship was shut down indefinitely on April 2 and ACB aims to restart the competition at some point.

All other staff members and workers of the club will retain their salaries and no measures will be taken regarding the statuses of both their employment and wages.
