Mantas Kalnietis re-signed with Lokomotiv Kuban for the next season, the Russian team announced on Wednesday.
“I am happy to continue my career at Loko,” pointed out the 33-year-old Lithuanian guard, “I feel that we did not get the job done last season and that we are bitter over our early elimination from EuroCup.”
Last summer Kalnietis returned to the Russian outlet for a second stint following his 2012-2015 run. He put up 6.9 points, 3.5 assists, ad 2.3 rebounds per 7DAYS EuroCup contest, but his team failed to advance past the regular season.
“I am sure that next season we will build a better understanding between us from our first games,” he added after extending his contract, “I believe that we will defeat the coronavirus. See you in the Basket Hall for a great 2020-21 season.”
His VTB United League comeback was marked by 7.4 points, 5.6 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per match up to the league’s decision to cancel the bottom end of the 2019-20 campaign.
