Carlos Suarez looking into a full decade as a member of the Unicaja Malaga squad.

Carlos Suarez renewed his contract with Unicaja Malaga, the Spanish club announced on Sunday. The agreement keeps the two sides together until the end of the 2021-22 season and includes an option for the 2022-23 season.

Suarez, 34, joined Malaga in 2013 following stints with Real Madrid and Movistar Estudiantes. His 2019-20 run marked his seventh season with the team based in Andalusia, a lengthy run earning him the captaincy.

He helped on the way for the 7DAYS EuroCup quarterfinals berth with 6.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per appearance prior to the premature conclusion of the season, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On the other hand, ACB is planning to restart with Malaga among the 12 final stage participants. The initial part saw Suarez put up 5.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per contest.
