UNICS splits with five players including Alex Tyus, Raymar Morgan

Alex Tyus, Raymar Morgan, Haukur Palsson, Andrey Koshcheev, and Elgin Cook were all released by UNICS Kazan.

Five players, Raymar Morgan, Alex Tyus, Haukur Palsson, Andrey Koshcheev, and Elgin Cook concluded their run with UNICS Kazan on Sunday, the Russian outlet announced. Everyone’s contract expired, as noted by UNICS.

Morgan, 31, went through his second campaign with UNICS. The former Michigan State standout posted 11.3 points per EuroCup game and 13.4 per VTB tilt up to the premature ending of both competitions, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tyus, 32, made his way to the Kazan club following his second stint with Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv. The well-experienced big, Florida alumni, scored 10.8 points per 7DAYS EuroCup match and 10.3 points per VTB United League contest.

Palsson, 28, averaged 4.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per EuroCup game. The Icelandic forward added 5.9 points per VTB contest.

Koshcheev, 33, did not score in four EuroCup appearances during his third season at the club. As for VTB, he was responsible for 2.6 points per contest.

Cook, 27, managed only one single EuroCup appearance after joining UNICS in late January.
