Reyer Venezia adds on its summer moves by penning Stefano Tonut to a three-year contract extension. The 26-year-old guard, member of the Italy senior national team, has been with the Venice club since the 2015-16 season.

“I really want to get back to training and playing with my teammates. Being part of this group, besides being stimulating, is fun because we manage to live everyday life with great joy,” he mentioned, “I believe that being positive and united has helped us to overcome tough and difficult challenges in recent years. I worked a lot during this time to improve and am very happy that the club has maintained the backbone from last year.”

After the early conclusion of the 2019-20 season due to the coronavirus pandemic, Venezia will be back in the 2020-21 editions of the 7DAYS EuroCup and the LBA Serie A. Tonut posted 8.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per EuroCup contest over 12 appearances last year, and also threw in 8.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game in the Italian league.

In 2017 and 2019, he helped his side capture the domestic championship, lifted the Italian cup in 2020, and the FIBA Europe Cup in 2018 as well.

After re-signing head coach Walter De Raffaele and his staff, Venezia moved on inking Michael Bramos, Bruno Cerella, Jeremy Chappell, Austin Daye, Andrea DeNicolao, Valerio Mazzola, Julyan Stone, Gasper Vidmar, and Mitchell Watt to contract extensions. Apart from retaining players, added Lorenzo D’Ercole and Isaac Fotu.
