Cedevita Olimpija announced the signing of 18-year-old guard Egor Sytnikov to a four-year deal. The Russian player has been with the youth squads of the club since 2017.
“I’m very excited to join the senior team of Cedevita Olimpija. It’s time for a fresh start in my career, at a very high level that I haven’t played in so far. I can’t wait to start the practices and grow as a player and person,” Sytnikov said for Cedevita’s website.
Sytnikov had some standout performances last season in the EuroLeague Adidas Next Generation Tournament in Belgrade, where he averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in four games. He also had 12.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in five games of the ABA League youth tournament.
“He’s still a raw diamond with a lot of potentials, there’s still a lot of room for improvement in his game. We will be happy to follow his development in the upcoming seasons,” Cedevita sports director Sani Becirovic said.
