Umana Reyer Venice announced that Austin Daye, who recently penned a multiyear deal with the club, was found COVID-19 positive after the medical tests done as soon as he arrived in the city.

Umana Reyer communicates that the athlete Austin Daye on his arrival in Venice was immediately subjected to medical tests that revealed his positivity to COVID-19. From Friday, the day of his arrival, the player is in home isolation, he will continue to be monitored and to follow the same regime. He is well and is asymptomatic.
Thanks to the great work of the Umana Reyer medical and organizational staff and the support of the ULSS 3 Serenissima prevention department, it was possible to immediately identify the athlete’s positivity and provide for his isolation as per protocols. The swab was sent to the Istituto Superiore di Sanità for the study of RNA and the verification of the possible mutation of the virus, as it was contracted in the United States.
