In their first test for the upcoming season, Gran Canaria prevailed in a prep game over Iberostar Tenerife. The final score was 76-73, but Gran Canaria led even by 15 points (67-52).
The game was really competitive in the first half and Tenerife managed to cut the lead in the closing minute by sending Gran Canaria to the free throws line.
The winning side had six players scoring 10 or more points with Matt Costello being the first among equals with 12 points.
Giorgi Shermandini with 16 points led the charge and newcomer Tyler Cavanaugh added 13 for the losing side.
