Per EuroCup:

After a road win that was worth first place in Group B, center Willie Reed of Buducnost VOLI Podgorica has walked off with the MVP honor for Round 2. Reed, playing in just his second 7DAYS EuroCup game, inspired Buducnost to an 83-89 decision over Boulogne Metropolitans 92 by scoring 22 points and pulling 8 rebounds. His performance index rating of 30 was the highest about players on winning teams in Round 2, and his 9-for-11 field goal shooting was Buducnost’s second-most efficient ever by a player attempting 8 or more shots. The top PIR of the week, 32, went to Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul guard Alex Perez, who poured in 33 points, including 10 of 13 two-pointers, in an 89-88 road loss to UNICS Kazan. Dylan Osetkowski had similar misfortune as the Ulm center’s 18 points, 7 rebounds and 31 PIR wasn’t enough to prevent an 87-84 overtime loss at Germani Brescia. Coming next with a career-high PIR of 29 was AS Monaco playmaker Dee Bost, whose personal-best 25 points fueled a blowout 82-57 home win over Lietkabelis Panevezys. And fifth among the week’s best players was Rashawn Thomas of Partizan NIS Belgrade, who scored 22 points in less than 17 minutes of a 95-73 win over Umana Reyer Venice.

Individual highs: Reggie Lynch, 14 rebounds, 6 blocks

Perez and his 33 points were by far the top total in Round 2 and matched the second-highest total over the last two seasons. They also make him this season’s overall top score after two games, with his 25.5-point average. Reggie Lynch of Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar corralled 14 rebounds, the best total in Round 2, while Nanterre 92’s Alpha Kaba has the best average after two games, 11.5. Reed’s Buducnost teammate Justin Cobb topped the Round 2 charts with 10 assists, while Dolomiti Energia Trento’s Gary Browne leads all passers with 8 per game. Marcos Knight made 5 steals for Monaco this week, while John Petrucelli of Ratiopharm Ulm averages a league-high 4.0 so far. And to go with his rebounds, Lynch rejected 6 shots in his team’s loss at Virtus Segafredo Bologna, giving him 3.5 blocks after two games, tops among all EuroCup players. Tyson Perez of MoraBanc Andorra recorded Round 2’s singular double-double, 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The game Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana – Frutti Extra Bursaspor did not take place.
