Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna announced that Aleksandar Djordjevic is no longer the coach of the team. Also, the first assistant coach Goran Bjedov and the physical trainer Mladen Mihajlovic were fired.

Assistant coach Cristian Fedrigo will sit on the bench of the team for the upcoming games.

Coach Djordjevic has been ejected in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against Sassari, which ultimately got the 83-78 road win. With a 5-4 record in the Italian Legabasket, Virtus Bologna is not performing yet at the desired level, even if they are cruising in the EuroCup with a 7-0 record.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the club, which recently added Italian star Marco Belinelli and also for coach Djordjevic who stepped down from the Serbian national team after the FIBA World Cup of 2019.
