After losing to Segafredo Virtus Bologna in the 7DAYS EuroCup, Petar Mijovic resigned a the head coach of Buducnost VOLI.

“Buducnost Voli, a club where I have further advanced in my career and improved my coaching skills, I experience in a special way. My decision is the result of deep thought and desire to put the interests of the club before personal,” Mijovic said in a statement.

Buducnost holds a 1-2 record in Group G behind Cedevita Olimpija (2-1) and Virtus Bologna (3-0). In ABA League, they stand at the third spot with an 11-3 record.

According to Mozzart Sport, the Montenegrin club has decided to hand the reigns to Dejan Milojevic who, back in the day, wore Buducnost’s jersey (2000-2004) as a player.

With the goals being to further advance in EuroCup and, above all, to win ABA and try to secure a spot in EuroLeague, Milojevic will have much work ahead of him.

Milojevic spent his first eight years (2012-20) of his coaching career with Mega where he helped develop many young players including Nikola Jokic, Goga Bitadze, and Vasilije Micic.

UPDATE: The move has now become official by the club
