Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar bounced back and defended its homecourt to beat visiting UNICS Kazan 86-74 in Game 2 of the 7DAYS EuroCup quarterfinals on Thursday to force Game 3 in the series.

Nigel Williams-Goss fired up 25 points, 4 assists and 4 steals to pace Evgeny Pashutin’s squad to the win and Mantas Kalnietis came close to his career-high with 23  points along with 10 assists, while Mindaugas Kuzminskas left the court with 15 points.

Despite trailing by one point (20-19) after the first quarter, the hosts bounced back in the second and never looked back since, keeping their lead to double digits for the remainder of the game.

Jamar Smith tried to lead a UNICS comeback in the fourth quarter, though his 20-point performance wasn’t enough for his team to end the series with a sweep on the road. Okaro White tapped 13 points for the visitors, John Brown and John Holland added up 11 points each.

Game 3 is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, March 31, in Kazan (18:00 CET).
