AS Monaco was slowly breaking down Buducnost VOLI’s resistance and succeeded in taking a 74-64 win to tie the 7DAYS EuroCup quarterfinal series at 1-1. The next game will decide the victor.

The game was played out in Slovenia at Arena Stozice due to the French citizens having travel restrictions when it comes to the countries outside of the European Union.

Rob Gray banked in 20 points – despite going 0-8 from deep – including the six crucial ones at the start of the fourth quarter to push his squad ahead by a 13-point margin (64-51), from which the opponent couldn’t recover.

Mathias Lessort also helped out as he finished with 19 points (plus nine rebounds) while Marco Knight added 13. For Buducnost, Justin Cobbs scored 17 followed by Nikola Ivanovic with 16 and Willie Reed with 12 points.

Neither team wasn’t finding its rhythm from long range, combing for only six threes out of 29 attempts but the shots around the elbow were the bread and butter for Monaco as Gray continued finding and making those tough shots in crucial moments.
