Although Fotis Katsikaris’ deal with Unicaja was valid through the 2022 season, the two sides have negotiated and agreed upon a salary cut that will keep the Greek coach Malaga bound for the upcoming season, as reported by Dario Sur.

Katsikaris joined the Spanish side in early 2021, though the club was shortly after eliminated from the 7DAYS EuroCup quarterfinals. Unicaja came close to sealing a playoffs spot in the Spanish Liga Endesa but fell short and Katsikaris has a 9-13 record on the team’s bench.

This will mark the Greek coach’s 11th season in Spain, having coached Valencia, Bilbao, Murcia, Tenerife and Gran Canaria in the past.
