Virtus Segafredo Bologna officially parted ways with Sasha Djordjevic on Tuesday. Sergio Scariolo has been the main option for the head coaching position, according to Corriere di Bologna.

Djordjevic, 53, actually separated with Virtus Bologna in December. He was reinstated less than 24 hours after the Italian club announced his departure. He since guided his side to the sweep versus AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milano to secure the LBA championship.

Scariolo, 60, an assistant coach at the Toronto Raptors since 2018 expected to return for the next season, and the head coach of Spain’s national team preparing for the Olympic Games, has remained on the radar of team officials hoping to bring him in.
