Ilimane Diop might be moving to Gran Canaria after almost a decade spent with Baskonia

After keeping John Shurna and bringing in Nicolas Brussino, Herbalife Gran Canaria has set its sight on Ilimane Diop with a two-year offer.

Diop has been with Baskonia since 2011 and has had a role in the first team for the past eight years. Last season, he saw limited time on the floor under coach Dusko Ivanovic who was giving him under nine minutes of playing time on average across 60 games in EuroLeague and the domestic front.

The 211 cm tall Senegalese-Spanish big would be an important addition to Gran Canaria which reached the 7DAYS EuroCup semifinals this past campaign, falling to AS Monaco that went on to become the champions.
