Virtus Bologna is preparing not only for next season’s 7DAYS EuroCup but a EuroLeague return, adding to an already admirable roster proved champions.

According to Eurohoops sources, Ekpe Udoh has a two-year deal in place with the Italian club and will join a team coached by former Toronto Raptors assistant coach and Spanish national team head coach Sergio Scariolo. The roster already includes former NBA players and European basketball icons Milos Teodosic and Marco Belinelli.

Udoh, a 2017 EuroLeague champion with Fenerbahce Beko and Final Four MVP has made a splash in the EuroLeague during his just two seasons in Turkey, before getting back to the NBA with a two-year deal with the Utah Jazz and spent the last two seasons in China.

He is currently preparing for the Tokyo Olympic Games with the Nigerian national team. In 58 EuroLeague games, Udoh averaged 12.3 ppg, 6,5 rpg, and 2.2 bpg.

As for Virtus, the Italians won their domestic League title against Olimpia Milan but they missed the chance to qualify for the EuroLeague, losing to the EuroCup semifinals to UNICS Kazan. If they make it to the finals this year, then they automatically get a EuroLeague spot for the 2022-23 season.
