Segafredo Virtus Bologna announced that the club has reached an agreement with Mouhammadou Jaiteh until the summer of 2023.

Last season, Jaiteh played in the Turkish championship, with Gaziantep, averaging 16.1 points and 10.8 rebounds over 28 games. This will be the player’s second stint in Italy as he played for Torino in the 2018-19 campaign.

Jaiteh was part of the French national team that won the bronze medal at the 2015 European Championship.

“Jaiteh is a player we’ve been watching for some time. He’s 26 years old, French nationality and in the last championship in Turkey he finished with double points/rebounds, with excellent performances against top teams Fenerbache and Efes. He already possesses important qualities and we think he can further improve within our team,” team GM Paolo Ronci said.

Bologna wasn’t the only team interested in Mam Jaiteh. Eurohoops also reported that Partizan NIS Belgrade showed had the player on their radar, however, the club never made an offer to the player despite the strong consideration.
