Partizan NIS Belgrade has been sanctioned by the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal and two bans are currently in place as of October 15, as it can be seen on FIBA’s sanction list.

President Ostoja Mijailovic confirmed the bans in a recent interview with mozzartsport.com and revealed that those two bans concerned former coach Andrea Trinchieri (he coached Partizan between 2018 and 2020) and current Burgos point guard Aleksej Nikolic.

“It is true, there are two active cases on which an agreement has already been reached and the ban will be lifted soon” said Mijailovic. “We have sent the final consent to BAT regarding the dynamics of payment of those claims due to which the ban formally remains. Andrea Trinchieri and Aleksej Nikolic are in question. In any case, nothing is happening that should upset anyone who loves Partizan or make those who don’t like the club happy”, pointed out the Partizan President.

Partizan is currently prohibited from making further signings until the two bans are lifted. Since there have been settlements for both, the procedure shouldn’t take long, though the timeframe is not specified.
