Promitheas Patras announced that Ilias Zouros has been appointed as the team’s new head coach. Zouros is replacing Luis Casimiro who was dismissed after Promitheas’ blowout loss to Bourg in EuroCup.

Zouros, the 2010 EuroCup Coach of the Year, is back in the competition after his 2016-2017 with Buducnost. He will be making his debut in Promitheas’ upcoming EuroCup game vs. Bursaspor where the Greek side will look to snap a 0-3 skid in the league.

Throughout his career, Zouros has also coached such teams as Olympiacos, Piraeus, Anadolu Efes, Zalgiris Kaunas, Tofas Bursa and Panellinios. He reached the EuroCup Final Four with the latter in 2010.

Since 2016, Zouros has also been the head coach of the Georgian national team.
