McCollum, Thompson pace Lokomotiv to win over Lietkabelis

Lokomotiv stunned Lietkabelis at home to move on with its second consecutive win

With Johnathan Motley and Stanton Kidd sidelined due to respective injuries, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar used its full rotation to beat Lietkabelis Panavezys 90-62 at home and sweep their regular-season series.

Errick McCollum and Darius Thompson paced Branko Maksimovic’s squad with 15 points apiece, Stanislav Ilnitskiy followed with 14 points, while Andrei Martiuk and Vladislav Emchenko had 11 points each. Lokomotiv picked up points by all of its players in the game, while youngster Abramo Canka made his debut and drained a three-pointer in nearly 5 minutes on the court.

Without leading scorer Gediminas Orelik available, Djordje Gagic picked up 15 points for Lietkabelis, and Panagiotis Kalaitzakis added 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Loko grabbed its second consecutive win to improve to an 8-3 record, while Lietkabelis falls to a 5-6 record.

Joventut Badalona protected its hot streak and extended it to five game with a 92-75 victory over Hamburg Towers on the road. Joel Parra paced Carles Duran’s side with 18 points, Derek Wills and Pep Busquets tapped 11 points each and Pau Ribas tapped 10 points.

Hamburg imposed its pace and led the first half, though Joventut turned the tables in the third period to grab a double-digit lead and never lost track since.

Caleb Homesley tapped 22 points for Hamburg, Justus Hollatz followed with 14, Maik Kotsar added 12 and Jaylon Brown had 10 points.

MoraBanc Andorra cruised to an 82-71 win over Dolomiti Energia Trento, in their first game after the dismissal of coach Ibon Navarro.

Drew Crawford paced the winners with 15 points, 5 rebounds, Clevin Hannah added 12 points and Nacho Llovet had 10 for now David Eudal’s squad.

Wesley Saunders dropped 13 points for Trento, Cameron Reynolds and Andrea Mezzanote added 12 points apiece and Desonta Bradford tapped 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for Trento.
