The matchup featuring Lietkabelis at the Hamburg Towers has been suspended, Euroleague Basketball announced Sunday. The game was initially scheduled to be held Tuesday.

Per the press release: “The 7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season Round 13 game between Hamburg Towers and Lietkabelis Panevezys, originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday, February 8, has been suspended.

Lietkabelis requested the suspension after several team members tested positive for COVID-19, which leaves the team without the minimum eight players on the Authorization List fit to play.

Following the Special Regulations due to COVID-19, approved by the ECA Shareholders Executive Board, each game can be rescheduled up to three times, if there are available dates. Euroleague Basketball will coordinate with the affected teams the best options to reschedule the games. Alternative dates will be announced on official Euroleague Basketball platforms.”

The Lithuanian team based in Panevezys sits sixth in Group A behind a 6-6 run so far in the Regular Season. The Towers rank eighth at 5-7.

The contest became the third Regular Season Round 13 game suspended after JL Bourg versus Gran Canaria and Lokomotiv Kuban against Slask Wroclaw, as announced yesterday, Saturday.

Back in Round 11, Frutti Extra Bursaspor hosting Umana Reyer Venezia remains suspended as the Round 10 affair pitting the Turkish side against Virtus Segafredo Bologna in Italy.

The Round 9 fixtures Venezia versus Gran Canaria and MoraBanc Andorra versus Slask have been rescheduled for February 15, while Cedevita Olimpija welcoming Promitheas was pushed back to March 10.
