Isaia Cordinier helped Virtus bounce back against Promitheas and make a strong push in EuroCup Group B

Isaia Cordinier scored a season-high with 22 points and six assists to lift Virtus Segafredo Bologna to a comfortable 83-61 victory over Promitheas Patras on the road for Round 16 of the 7DAYS EuroCup.

Virtus made a strong push to improve to 9-7 and have won three of their last four games and completed the sweep against Promitheas. Kyle Weems followed with 15 points for the Italian side, Mam Jaiteh added 11 points and 9 rebounds, while newcomers Daniel Hackett and Tornike Shengelia contributed six and two points respectively.

Nikos Rogkavopoulos had 20 points and Jerai Grant added 12 for Promitheas that dropped to a 4-12 record and has been mathematically eliminated from playoffs contention.

David Dudzinski tapped a new career-high with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Andrew Andrews also poured in 23 as Frutti Extra Bursaspor prevailed over Valencia 92-89 to win their second straight game and improve to a 7-9 record in Group B. Derek Needham added 16 points and 6 assists for the Turkish team that used a fourth-quarter rally to edge their visitors.

Xavi Lopez-Arostegui posted 17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists for Valencia, Klemen Prepelic added 14 points and 7 assists, Mike Tobey also had 14 points and Jasiel Rivero followed with 13. Joan Penarroya’s squad lost its first game after a three-game winning streak and drop to 11-5 and the second place of the standings.

Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana put up a scoring feast against Umana Reyer Venice and with a 105-90 victory they sealed a ticket to the EuroCup playoffs. Zach Auguste led five more scorers in double digits with 20 points and 8 rebounds for Cedevita. Yogi Ferrell followed with 17 points and 6 assists, Jaka Blazic posted 15 points, Edo Muric had 12, Zoran Dragic added 11 while Alen Omic posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Victor Sanders paced struggling Venice with 24 points, Stefano Tonut added 14 and Andrea De Nicolao had 13.

Gran Canaria extended its winning streak to three games after outlasting Buducnost 84-64 at home. GranCa pulled away with a double-digit lead in the third quarter and never looked back to retain the top of Group B standings. Aleksander Balcerowski picked up 15 points for the winners, Dylan Ennis tapped 14 points, Nicolas Brussino had 13 and John Shurna followed with 11. DJ Seeley led Buducnost with 18 points and Justin Cobbs had 12, as the Montenegrin side has now lost three of its last four games.
