Metropolitans is back on the winning track with an important victory over Joventut

Jordan McRae scored a season-high 24 points to pace Boulogne Metropolitans 92 to a hard-fought 86-78 victory over top-seeded Joventut Badalona in Round 16 of the 7DAYS EuroCup.

McRae was the key contributor for the French team, though Will Cummings also greatly boosted his team’s efforts with 18 points and Tomer Ginat picked up 17 points and 9 rebounds, while Miralem Halilovic added 14 points and 6 rebounds. Metropolitans bounced back after last week’s defeat to Partizan and have now won six of their last seven games to improve to a 9-5 record.

Simon Birgander led the way for Joventut with 16 points, 8 rebounds, Brandon Paul added 12 points, Derek Willis had 11, while Guillem Vivs and Pau Ribas both scored 10 points apiece. Joventut tied Partizan at 11-4 though remains the boss of the Group A standings with all eight playoffs tickets already determined.
