Valencia guard Klemen Prepelic will undergo surgery to repair a fracture in his left arm and will have to miss the rest of the 2021-22 season as a result, the club announced. Prepelic was injured during a 72 – 71 win of his team over Murcia Sunday (27/3).

This is quite the hit for Valencia (and potentially the Slovenian national team ahead of the EuroBasket of September) that will proceed for the remainder of the campaign without its leading scorer over all competitions. The Slovenian guard averaged 14.2 points in EuroCup plus 2.9 assists in EuroCup, along with 15.1 points plus 3.0 assists in the Spanish ACB League.

Valencia is currently 11 – 5 and in the second place of Group B in EuroCup while being tied with Joventut Badalona at 16 – 8 and the fourth spot in the ACB standings.

Per Valencia:

Valencia Basket shooting guard Klemen Prepelic seriously injured his left arm in the last quarter of the game that the Taronja squad played this morning at UCAM Murcia’s court.

The Slovenian player will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2021-22 season after confirming the tests to which he has been subjected that Prepelic suffers from a fracture of the ulna and radius of the left arm that will require surgery.
