Romanian club Cluj Napoca will compete in the EuroCup for the first time next season but their latest addition is quite familiar with the competition. The team announced that wing Victor Sanders was acquired for the upcoming season.

Sanders has two EuroCup seasons on his back since he played with Trento in 2019-20 and spent last year with Reyer Venezia.

Competition newcomer U-BT Cluj-Napoca added depth and 7DAYS EuroCup experience to its roster signing a deal with swingman Victor Sanders, the club announced Monday. Sanders (1.94 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Umana Reyer Venice where he averaged 7.4 points, 1.6 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals. It was his second consecutive season in the competition, after playing with Dolomiti Energia Trento during the 2019-20 campaign. He has made a total of 32 appearances in the EuroCup over the past two seasons.

Previously in his career, Sanders played in Belgium with Telenet Giants Antwerp, which he helped reach the Basketball Champions League final four in 2019. He also captured two Belgian cups with Antwerp. That was the only other pro team Sanders played for since his college career at the University of Idaho.

Speaking of Trento, the Italian side brought swingman Trent Lockett back for the first time since 2015-16. The 31-year-old player was part of the squad that made the EuroCup semifinals in 2016.
