Despite a challenging situation off the court, Prometey managed to dominate the 7DAYS EuroCup, ending the Regular Season on top of Group A with a 14-4 record. However, the Ukrainian club will have to face the next games without two of its main protagonists: DJ Kennedy and Caleb Agada.
Before the 7DAYS EuroCup Eight-Finals clash against Veolia Towers Hamburg, in fact, club’s president Volodymyr Dubinskiy spoke about his players’ injuries. “After all the necessary examinations, it became clear that DJ Kennedy will not help Prometey until the end of this season. In mid-April, he will undergo an extremely difficult operation”, he said about DJ Kennedy missing the rest of the season
Then, he went on to speak about Agada’s injury. “The second news is also not easier. Another of our leaders, Caleb Agada, was injured in the match with Reyer Venezia. After an MRI, there was also a disappointing verdict from the doctors. His recovery will last at least 4-6 weeks”, he announced.
DJ Kennedy was averaging 10.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in the European competition, while Agada led the team scoring 15.4 points per appearance while adding 3.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
