Hapoel Tel Aviv gets big win in Venice, Bourg on top of Group B

Tomer Ginat made things happen for Hapoel, plus home wins for Bourg, Ulm and Buducnost in the first four games of Round 3 of the the BKT EuroCup

Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv is the big Tuesday winner of the BKT EuroCup Round 3, as the only team which managed to prevail on the road.

The Israelis beat Umana Reyer Venice 97-81 by dominating the last period (29-17) getting 21 points by Tomer Ginat and also 19 by Jalen Hoard, 15 by Xavier Mumford and 12 plus seven assists and five rebounds by Brian Angola (photo).

The game was close until the end of the third with Hapoel having a four-point lead (68-64). The hosts got 23 points by Barry Brown jr and 20 by Rayjon Tucker, getting their third defeat in three games so far in the season. On the contrary Hapoel remains perfect at 2-0 in Group A having one game less.

Buducnost VOLI Podgorica prevailed over Slask Wroclaw with the final score being 103-89. JaCorey Williams starred for Buducnost, which improved to 2-1 in Group B, while Slask dropped to 0-3 in the season.

Williams scored 10 of his 18 points in the third quarter, helping the hosts pull away to a double-digit lead having also 11 rebounds. Colbey Ross added 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. Dusan Miletic finished as Slask’s top scorer with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Ratiopharm Ulm remains perfect at home by getting the 99-74 win over 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys, 99-74. The victory lifted Ulm’s record to 2-1 in Group B and the losing side dropped to 1-2.

Dakota Mathias downed 4 of Ulm’s 17 three-pointers on the night to lead all scorers with 20 points. Lietkabelis got 13 points from Gediminas Orelik.

Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse, however, remains on top of Group B after a close call against U-BT Cluj-Napoca and a 92-88 triumph.

Bourg now boasts a 3-0 group record while Cluj fell to 2-1. Bryce Brown drilled 5 three-pointers among his game-high 25 points for Bourg. Zaccharie Risacher scored 11, including the free throws that sealed the victory with 7 seconds left.

Cluj, which rallied from 19 points behind late in the first half but never tied or led, got 22 points from DJ Seeley.
