Despite the victory against Neptunas (75-71), AEK Athens was eliminated from the Last 32 and the club’s head coach, Dragan Sakota, said he will meet with the administration to discuss his future, mentioning that Galatasaray‘s defeat was “weird”.

“It was a very difficult group, but I was sure we would advance to the next phase, if we won five of our games,” said Sakota, adding that he was satisfied with the team’s performance in most of the matches.

Regarding his comments on Galatasaray‘s performance, he clarified that “they had no interest in the game at all, conceded a 17-0 run and didn’t even call a time-out.”

For his own part, Neptunas head coach, Dainius Adomaitis, said his team fought for the win, however they made crucial mistakes and were not concentrated, adding that “although we qualified, I am not satisfied, because we could have finished first in the group.”
