Experienced center reinforces Slovenian team until the end of the season

As reported by Eurohoops, Rasid Mahalbasic is the new player of Cedevita Olimpija, Slovenian club confirmed in an official announcement.

The 33-year-old center has joined Simone Pianigiani’s side until the end of the season, in response to injuries sustained by Karlo Matkovic and Alexander Shaskov.

Mahalbasic, born in Jesenice, Slovenia, initiated his career in Austria and has since played for Fenerbahce, Tofas, Split, Zlatorog, Prokom, Nymburk, Astana, Nizhny Novgorod, Belediye, Real Betis, Oldenburg, Monaco, Breogan, and Burgos throughout his highly international career.

He notably played 10 games in the EuroLeague during the 2012/13 season with Prokom and amassed 53 EuroCup appearances with Nymburk, Nizhny, and Oldenburg.

Mahalbasic has also been a member of the Austria National Team since 2009, with his latest appearance in the EuroBasket 2025 pre-qualifiers, where he averaged 21.5 points, six rebounds, and six assists per game for the national team.
